Last updated: March 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the oasdiff website and API (collectively, the "Service") operated by OASDIFF LTD (company number 17071693) ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

oasdiff is a tool for comparing OpenAPI specifications and detecting breaking changes. The Service includes a web-based diff calculator, a changelog view, a breaking-change checker, and an HTTP API. The underlying comparison engine is the open-source oasdiff library, released under the Apache 2.0 license.

2. Uploaded Specifications

When you upload OpenAPI specification files for comparison, those files are processed solely to generate the diff result you requested. We do not store, index, analyse, or share your uploaded files beyond the duration of a single request. You retain all ownership and intellectual property rights in your uploaded content.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system.
  • Submit files containing malware, executable code, or content designed to harm the Service or other users.
  • Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or usage quotas associated with your plan.
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service API without our written permission.

4. Free and Paid Plans

The Service is available under a free tier and one or more paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan you agree to pay the applicable fees as described on the pricing page. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

In particular, diff results and breaking-change reports are informational outputs of an automated tool. We do not guarantee that the analysis is complete, correct, or suitable for any specific use case. You are responsible for independently verifying any results before acting on them in production systems.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD 100.

7. Intellectual Property

The oasdiff comparison engine is open source and licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The oasdiff.com website, its design, and any proprietary features of the hosted Service are owned by us and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
